Many people in the San Diego area know us for our quality drain cleaning services, but did you know that Roto-Rooter is also the nation’s largest and most trusted full-service plumbing company? We take plumbing very seriously, because a plumbing emergency can mean disruption to your family, and lost productivity and revenue for businesses. Our technicians are professionally trained to service buildings and homes of any type or size, including industrial, retail and corporate-grade plumbing and fixtures, efficiently and expeditiously. From replacing a sink to backed-up sewer lines and emergency flooding, Roto-Rooter technicians can handle whatever plumbing challenges you may face.
Sewer and Drain Cleaning
The most frequent source of sewer drain blockages is the simple buildup of dirt, debris and mineral deposits. If you are a restaurant worker or employed in a food processing facility, you have seen firsthand how quickly grease and other organic matter can accumulate in pipes and drain lines. So what should you do when these blockages occur? Call Roto-Rooter. Since 1935, we have been cleaning sewers and drains, and no job is too big or too small. Trust us―we’ve seen it all!
Trenchless Pipe Repair
Pipes can corrode, crack, and misalign over time, which can allow tree roots and other objects to enter the lines. This can produce blockages and cause a reduction in waste water flow from your home or business to the municipal lines. Sometimes, pipe damage can also result in sewage overflows, creating a catastrophe. Roto-Rooter offers “trenchless” methods to the San Diego area that replace cracked, broken and leaking pipes without digging, reducing disruption to people and property.
Pipe relining repairs damaged sewer pipes without digging up the surrounding area. During the process, the pipe is repaired by lining it with a new, “pipe-within-a-pipe.” The existing pipe is cleaned and then lined with a felt liner that has been pre-cut and measured. The pre-cut liner is saturated in resins, inserted into the damaged pipe and inflated. It is then cured to harden, taking the shape of the host pipe. The result is 100% restoration of pipe function and flow in less time, money and interruption than traditional dig and replace methods.
Much the same as pipe relining, pipe bursting does not require access to the area surrounding the damaged portion of pipe. It only requires two small access holes, and pipe bursting is especially useful when replacing a broken pipe with one of equal (or larger) size, or if the existing pipe is out of capacity. This method is cost-effective and reduces damage to pavement, parking lots and building structures, and causes minimal overall disruption.
Roto-Rooter’s trained and experienced technicians provide thorough evaluations and recommendations using specially designed, self-propelled video cameras to make visual inspections of sewer lines, from two inches to 36 inches in diameter. Our high-resolution cameras are able to detect grease buildup, broken pipes, leaks and obstructions, such as roots. Through the video inspection, our technicians can locate the line, diagnose the problem and decide the best course of rehabilitation or repair for each unique job.
High Pressure Jetting
Roto-Rooter is able to safely and effectively clean even the most highly obstructed pipes, using our state-of-the-art water jetting equipment. First, under tremendous pressure, a hose is propelled by water into the sewer line. Next, the line is cleaned by powerful forward and reverse jets of water. The jets wash the scale, silt, sand, grease and other materials back to the manhole. At this point, the debris is responsibly removed from the line, decreasing the chance of future blockages.
Leak Detection and Line Locating
Having trouble finding the source of your water leak? Roto-Rooter’s highly experienced technicians will locate it, whether it is in a mainline, an irrigation leak or someplace in-between. We will quickly pinpoint the source using our cutting edge equipment and technical expertise and take appropriate steps to decrease the cost and waste of water loss. Before digging, Roto-Rooter can also help locate telecommunication, natural gas, fiber optics, television, and other utility lines to prevent damages or injuries from occurring.
Grease Trap Pumping
Restaurants and businesses that are involved in food service and the handling of food wastes are very aware that they must clean grease traps regularly to keep business running without odor and to prevent back-ups. Wastes such as animal fats and vegetable oils can create a blockage in the kitchen plumbing system before they ever reach sanitary sewer lines. Roto-Rooter can be called on to reliably and professionally vacuum, pump and haul the waste from septic tanks, grease traps, catch basins and other liquid waste receptacles, such as car wash pumps. We provide safe and legal disposal of the waste, and we make sure to put the environment first.
Backflow Testing and Repair
What is backflow? Backflow is the reverse flow of dirty water through clean water lines, which can introduce contaminants such as feces, pesticides, chemicals, fertilizer and other materials. Most commercial properties are required by law to have yearly testing and certification of their backflow meters. Roto-Rooter technicians perform annual backflow testing and certification, repairs, and installation of all types of prevention devices. We will handle all paperwork relating to your annual inspection and will send you a reminder when your next annual backflow testing is due so your property remains in good standing with the local water authority. A Roto-Rooter backflow expert can also do an inspection of your plumbing system to confirm that your property is equipped with the correct backflow device or devices.
